Airmedic appears under the spotlight
Fans of Transplanté, the French version of the cult series Transplant, have just concluded season 2 with a memorable finale. The most detail-oriented among you probably noticed an EC-145 sporting Airmedic’s colors throughout the episodes.
You saw correctly! Among all air medical transport companies in Canada, it was Airmedic’s services that the production team chose. In doing so, they highlighted the reality of emergency interventions in the country during this second season. Our crew, dedicated to medical rescue, felt honored to demonstrate their expertise. The team was thus able to showcase their know-how as a recognized company in medical transport in the country.

CTV launched Transplanté in 2020. Since then, the public has considered it a reference in modern emergency medicine. Moreover, the series has received several awards and is listed in the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards nominations for the second consecutive year. To maintain this excellence, the production surrounded itself with domain experts, such as Airmedic, to ensure the authenticity of the footage.

Air emergency medical services in Quebec
In Quebec, 75 % of the territory is not covered by the 9-1-1 emergency service. This is a reality often unknown to the general public. For this reason, Airmedic has been intervening for over ten years to provide a medical transport service adapted to air emergencies.
When an accident or medical incident occurs in a remote region or far from urban centers, the protection provided by Airmedic becomes crucial. In response, we arrive quickly on site and provide specialized medical assistance. Then, we transport the patient to the most appropriate hospital, 24/7, 365 days a year. From the first minutes, an experienced air medical team takes charge of the situation. Thus, we handle all the logistics of the evacuation.

Why Transplanté is unanimously praised?
The series stars Laurence Leboeuf and Hamza Haq in poignant roles. It tells the story of Dr. Bashir Hamed, a Syrian doctor trained in combat medicine. As he rebuilds a new life in Canada, the doctor works as a resident in the emergency department of York Memorial Hospital in Toronto.
The original series, Transplant, is available in English on CTV and in French on Noovo.ca. The second season aired in spring 2022 and will be rebroadcast soon. So, keep your eyes open to spot the Airmedic helicopter!
