2022 Zec Network Congress
The 2022 Zec Network Conference was held from April 1 to 3 at the prestigious Château Frontenac. The annual in-person Zec conference was eagerly awaited, as the pandemic had caused a two-year hiatus.
For the occasion, ZEC managers participated in several conferences. These presentations covered a variety of topics of interest. Other topics discussed included the moose management plan, civility in the workplace, and wildlife management.

Airmedic among the partners of the Zec Network Congress
Several sponsors and partners also took part in the Zec Network event. They exchanged ideas with representatives from 63 ZECs from across Quebec. Once again this year, Airmedic’s presence was particularly noteworthy. Many ZECs that already subscribe to Airmedic’s protection took the opportunity to discuss their specific needs. They also discovered concrete solutions to improve their operations in the field. In addition, this meeting allowed Airmedic to meet new potential partners. As a result, it strengthened existing ties while opening the door to future collaborations.

Zec Network Congress Banquet
In addition to the general meeting, the 2022 Zec Network Congress concluded with a banquet held on Saturday evening. Zec administrators and employees in attendance were joined by several guests and partners from the wildlife community. In fact, no fewer than 200 people took part in this memorable evening. The participation of Pierre Dufour, Minister of Forests, Wildlife, and Parks, was a highlight of the evening. His presence helped strengthen ties between ZEC managers and government representatives.

Recipient of the 2022 André-Magny Award
During the evening, the 2022 André-Magny Award was presented to a volunteer for their outstanding commitment. This award highlights the importance of volunteerism in the ZEC network. It should be noted that Quebec’s ZECs rely heavily on the active participation of volunteers. Their dedication is essential to the sustainable management of wildlife resources and natural areas.
The 2022 Zec Network Congress was rich in discussion. Ideas and knowledge exchanges marked the opening of the season. Soon, the 63 ZECs will be ready to welcome their users. Finally, the Quebec Federation of ZEC Managers has already announced an upcoming congress not to be missed, promising another year of collaboration and success!
