A winter memory that sticks in your heart
I was listening to an old Ski-Doo commercial, and the slogan stuck in my head like a taste of cream and sugar. The slogan was: Here, it’s Ski-Doo. Does that ring a bell? Cousins, uncles, aunts, family going snowmobiling. As the saying goes: “Cold or not, let’s go!” Between memories of the smell of fuel and two-stroke engines, the spirit remains the same. The appeal of winter lies in the activity. And what better way to enjoy what winter has to offer than a snowmobile ride in our favorite playground? However, at the heart of these outdoor adventures, snowmobile safety must always remain a priority.
A lasting relationship with snowmobilers
Airmedic has a long love story with fans of this sport. Every year, we partner with several snowmobiling events. Certainly, the last two winters were less conducive to gathering, but we still developed a strong partnership with the FCMQ. We also teamed up with a landmark event: Expedition First Nations. This adventure planned a large tour of Quebec from Sept-Îles to Manawan, passing through Kuujjuaq, Chisasibi, Lac-Simon, and Opitciwan. Although the event was postponed to 2023, the organizers made sure to hold a microedition. Indeed, nearly 25 participants were able to test their equipment between La Tuque and the Pourvoirie Martin.

Snowmobile safety starts with preparation
In this spirit, it is important for the snowmobiling community to think about snowmobile safety when planning their adventures. No one is immune to a breakdown, mechanical failure, or unexpected event. These situations can represent a real danger to oneself or, worse, to a loved one. It is therefore essential to anticipate and equip oneself properly.
We have already carried out several interventions this winter. In most cases, snowmobile safety was compromised by a lack of preparation. Too often, situations could have gone wrong without Airmedic’s rapid intervention.
Thus, one message remains essential: have your Airmedic card with you and a reliable means of communication within reach!
