The memorable year 2022
2022 has been a pivotal and significant year for our teams, members and partners alike. I couldn’t have wished for a better year for Airmedic’s tenth anniversary. This year has been marked by sustained growth and a restructuring of our workforce. I’m proud of the work done by Airmedic’s teams and of the confidence of our members, which has enabled us to continue our development. So now is the time to take stock and share with you the highlights of this past year 2022.
Milestones of year 2022
-
Airmedic, one of Quebec’s 300 largest SMEs
All this dedication helps us to shine as one of Quebec’s top 300 SMEs, as ranked by Les Affaires magazine.
-
10 years at your service
Last May, we celebrated our 10th anniversary with a huge event at the Saint-Hubert hangar. We invited all our customers, partners and suppliers to celebrate our history and success over the years. It was an honor to present our facilities and meet you in person
-
New Saint-Hubert head office
This project, which will be completed in 2023, reflects the progress we have made over the past ten years. With this expansion, we are consolidating our role as an industry leader, and preparing for the future in an assertive manner.
-
Blanc-Sablon service point
At the beginning of 2022, construction of the Blanc-Sablon hangar was finally completed. The positioning of a hangar in Blanc-Sablon is favourable for our future projects, the growth of Airmedic, and the optimization of our services.
-
Quebec City point of service
It’s important to remember that Quebec City is home to six hospitals with different specialties, including a trauma center, a burn center, two psychiatric emergencies, as well as specialized centers for stroke, cardiac surgery and pediatrics, not to mention the Hôtel-Dieu de Lévis with its hyperbaric chamber. Positioning ourselves in Quebec City is strategically essential.

-
Opitciwan helipad
We worked with the Opitciwan Band Council to build a helipad to serve this Atikamekw community. Last September, the Airmedic team travelled to Opitciwan for the inauguration of the site named Masko, meaning the protective bear. A traditional ceremony was held in keeping with the community’s traditions.
-
Western Shuttle
Airmedic is proud to be the operator of the Quebec aeromedical evacuation program (EVAQ) for the health and social services regions of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Nord-du-Québec and Terres-cris-de-la-Baie-James. The renewal of this agreement demonstrates the government’s confidence in our operations.
-
Helicopter fleet expansion in 2022
In November, we took advantage of our presence at the Grand Salon de la motoneige et du quad to announce the addition of four new BK117 helicopters to our fleet, increasing the number of Airmedic helicopters from two to six. The acquisition of these aircraft will enable us to meet our growing response needs, as well as react more quickly to emergencies.
-
Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix 2022
Once again, the Airmedic team collaborated with the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix organization to ensure the safety of drivers and Formula 1 fans. It was also an opportunity to renew our collaboration with Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal.
-
Ergonomics, style and functionality for our new uniforms
We have developed tailor-made clothing adapted to the reality of our missions. To facilitate work organization, comfort and uniform quality, we worked with the Quebec company STEPHAN/H to create custom-made uniforms adapted to our missions.
2022 paves the way for 2023
The year 2023 promises to be just as exciting. Airmedic is committed to participating and continuing its growth by working with its members and partners. We wouldn’t be where we are without you. Your presence by our side motivates us to always surpass ourselves.
Happy holidays and a great 2023!
