22 zecs to visit for guaranteed winter safety
Whether snowshoeing, ice fishing or snowmobiling, we all have our own unique way of enjoying the joys of winter and the bucolic landscapes it brings. However, every year, too many accidents occur on Quebec territory. And yet, many of them could have been avoided. That’s why we’re presenting 22 zecs in Quebec that offer enhanced winter safety thanks to Airmedic protection.
Why choose the right zec?
First, you need to know that some zecs are members of Airmedic. This means they can provide safe, efficient heli-medical transport for anyone on their territory. This service is available day and night, 365 days a year. So if an accident or illness occurs on a member zec, Airmedic responds quickly. Our team provides emergency medical assistance and transport to the most appropriate hospital.
Winter safety offered by Airmedic member zecs
The 22 zecs listed below are Airmedic members, so you can play outdoors with peace of mind. They offer you a real gift, so that you can enjoy the territory in complete safety.

Many zecs offer a wide range of winter activities. Airmedic zecs are no exception. However, as most reception posts are closed in winter, you’ll need to be self-sufficient. Also, not all zecs have snow-cleared trails. First of all, check if the zec is open and register. Then you can enjoy snowmobiling, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing and, in some cases, even cottaging. Of course, you’ll need to bring your own equipment to make the most of your activities.
Ice fishing: a family activity
Some of these zecs also offer ice fishing. Check with the zec to find out when they are open. Information on ice fishing at each zec will be available shortly. It’s an activity the whole family can enjoy. In particular, some zecs will be organizing special ice-fishing days this winter, an activity that’s sure to please the whole family.
