New uniforms for Airmedic’s 10th anniversary
Airmedic is excited to unveil its new uniforms, designed by Stephan/H. Thanks to more than ten years of experience in the field, it has been possible to design and develop, in collaboration with these experts, new uniforms adapted to the reality of the missions and the daily lives of the crews. These garments are custom-made. They facilitate the work of the teams and embody our mission and our origins.
Airmedic is proud to begin its 11th year of operation proudly displaying its colors: blue and red.

Uniforms designed for field service
These new designs will enable teams to provide equitable, efficient, and safe medical assistance, regardless of the situation. This applies to Quebec, but also internationally. As a leader and benchmark in air medical transport, Airmedic strives for excellence. It aims to provide quality care with passion, respect, and commitment.
A project designed with teams in the field
“We care deeply about the safety and comfort of our staff. It was important for us to develop new uniforms that meet several criteria. The project began in the winter of 2021. Consultative sessions were held with field staff. This allowed us to better understand their reality and their needs. Subsequently, a well-suited uniform was developed with the supplier Stephan/H. The project is ongoing. The new uniforms will be continuously improved based on their use. This will allow them to evolve with changing needs. It’s a great example of teamwork.”
Louis-Philippe Loiselle Fortier, Vice President, Clinical Services and Strategic Initiatives

These garments are synonymous with ergonomics, functionality, durability, and style. STEPHAN/H designs them to meet the needs of teams while offering a distinctive look.
A specialized Quebec company
The STEPHAN/H team designs, develops, and manufactures high-end performance clothing for professionals. In 2012, the company began operations to meet the demands and requirements of helicopter pilots. Since then, it has dressed the biggest names in the industry and developed technologies to ensure performance, comfort, and style for pilots, paramedics, law enforcement, aerobatics, the film industry, and even space exploration.
New designs synonymous with comfort, performance, and safety
Pilots and first officers: airplane

Our airplane pilots must wear a formal, professional uniform. It is black or navy blue, depending on the contract. To ensure that the uniform meets these requirements while remaining suited to the realities of our teams, we have opted for a durable, comfortable garment with stretch at the joints.
The varied weather conditions put pilots to the test. The uniform must therefore include different thicknesses. Their black pants have pockets on the legs to make work tools quickly accessible while seated.
They also wear a black long-sleeved polo shirt and a flexible gray jacket. Finally, each pilot proudly wears a coat that ensures optimal comfort when seated thanks to various strategically placed stretch inserts. This design optimizes the pilot’s position and reduces pressure points and fatigue.

Pilots and first officers: helicopter
Helicopter pilots also experience significant temperature changes. They often interact with patients and support the medical team. It is therefore essential to provide them with a comfortable, stretchy suit that allows for freedom of movement. Their suit is a modern version of a classic one-piece uniform. Inserts ensure mobility in all directions and reduce pressure points for the pilot. The cobalt blue color distinguishes these pilots. Their function is clearly indicated on the back of the jumpsuit. Rain or shine, our pilots are called upon to respond. The jumpsuits are therefore water-repellent and ventilated.

Medical team
Our medical team is involved in both pre-hospital and inter-hospital transport. Despite certain similarities, these missions are different, and our uniforms must reflect the realities of these situations. The outfit consists of two pieces: a red jacket and red pants. Their profession is also indicated on the back of the jacket. Designed in collaboration with medical staff, the outfit meets the specific requirements of medical transport. The numerous pockets hold all the essentials for interventions: IV hook, integrated storage in the legs for an iPad, etc. These technologies allow teams to have their hands free during interventions. Gel pads are integrated into the knees, as staff are often required to work on the ground.
The fabric is not only flexible and ergonomic, but also fire-resistant and protects against small chemical splashes or bodily fluids. Reflective strips are also integrated directly into the jacket. A fleece lining is removable to adapt to weather conditions.

Maintenance and ground operations
Our maintenance and ground operations teams also work in extreme conditions. They wear orange jackets with reflective strips. Everyone can carry out maintenance and other activities in comfort with these stretchy, durable jackets. Thanks to the color, reflective strips, and lettering on the back, our teams are visible throughout the hangar and on the tarmac.

Supply, dispatch and administration
Finally, our supply, dispatch and administrative team also have access to a uniquely designed uniform with a modern style. A fleece jacket and polos (black or red) with long or short sleeves ensure the comfort of our teams. Easy to care for and breathable, these uniforms allow staff to proudly display Airmedic’s colors.
