The Pilatus PC-12 is distinguished by its ability to land and take off on short, unsurfaced runways (grass, gravel, snow). It flies at a maximum speed of 528 km/h, can accommodate 4 to 5 passengers, 2 pilots, and up to 2 stretchers. These aircraft can reach a maximum flight altitude of 30,000 feet and have a range of 2,900 km.
Twin-engine BK117 helicopters, equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, offer impressive capacity, transporting up to four passengers (medical team, patient, and companion) along with two pilots. Designed for stretcher-bound patient transport, these aircraft stand out for their exceptional landing capability. Whether in dense forest or on rocky terrain, the BK117 can safely land on a cleared area of 100 feet by 100 feet.
The EC145 is a twin-engine helicopter used in the medical field, similar to the BK117. Equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, EC145 helicopters offer high transport capacity, accommodating up to four passengers (medical team members, patients, and companions) along with two pilots. Designed to ensure the safe transport of stretcher-bound patients, these helicopters stand out for their ability to land in challenging environments. A key asset to our fleet.
The coordination centre, based in Saint-Hubert, manages the control, deployment and planning of medical transports, as well as international repatriations and operational support. Available 24/7, it is staffed by flight coordinators, flight dispatchers, on-call managers, nurses and doctors.
The flight coordinator handles calls from the first seconds and guides the medical transport process. Working with the flight dispatcher, they deploy appropriate resources, the fleet’s aircraft, and communicate with ground-based hospitals and emergency services.
Flight dispatchers analyze the weather and plan flights to ensure safety. They coordinate flight and ground crews, communicating with airports for optimum synchronization.
The medical team includes on-call managers, doctors, paramedics, nurses and respiratory therapists. These professionals ensure complete, personalized care, from initial assessment to safe transport to hospital.
The on-call medical manager assesses the patient’s medical condition and makes rapid decisions to ensure efficient evacuation.
The practitioner provides medical recommendations and on-board care in certain cases. He is responsible for diagnosis, recommendations and prescriptions, in collaboration with the medical team.
Flight paramedics or flight nurses provide advanced medical care in flight. They board various aircraft in our fleet and intervene to stabilize patients, provide care, and operate specialized medical equipment.
The respiratory therapist manages in-flight respiratory emergencies, supervising the use of ventilation devices and administering the necessary treatments. They intervene during respiratory crises to stabilize passengers or crew.
