A First for Airmedic: Launch of an Educational Safety and Health Symposium Open to All
St-Hubert, October 30, 2023 — Airmedic is proud to announce its first-ever health and safety symposium, which will be streamed virtually on November 30, 2023. Accessible to everyone, this free event will feature five conferences and panel discussions. It will bring together more than 20 industry experts to educate, equip, and exchange ideas on safety and health challenges in remote regions.
“This health and safety symposium is especially important for our individual members, corporate members, and partners. It sheds light on critical issues related to health and safety in remote regions. It also highlights the concrete challenges our sector faces every day,” said Louis-Philippe Loiselle-Fortier, Vice President, Strategic Initiatives and Business Development at Airmedic.
“The safety of Québec residents in remote areas is central to our mission. This is why Airmedic has created a full day of virtual educational conferences. By offering this initiative free of charge to the entire Québec population, we ensure that everyone can access the tools needed to stay safe in the wilderness,” he added.
Program
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event will offer a unique opportunity to deepen knowledge in health and safety. In addition, it will allow participants to exchange innovative ideas and discover practical solutions to real challenges. Topics will include geolocation and communication with emergency services in remote regions, first aid, risk management, and emergency situations. The program will also place particular emphasis on helicopter evacuation planning and deployment.
Furthermore, the Airmedic Safety and Health Symposium will highlight the expertise of several industry partners. SIRIUSMEDx, Dessercom, Dessercom Événement, the Sur la pointe des pieds Foundation, and Nord Expé will participate in panels. Likewise, SKNA Solutions Télécom, Orientation Azimut, the Sûreté du Québec, and the Canadian Armed Forces will also take part. These experts will contribute to interactive panels and educational conferences open to all. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to speak with Airmedic operations employees during a lunch conference, strengthening the connection between frontline professionals and the public.
Major Impacts
The expected impacts of this safety and health symposium are significant. First, it will strengthen relationships between key players in the sector. Therefore, it will encourage long-lasting collaborations and a more robust professional network. Next, participants will benefit from useful information and emerging trends in safety and health. This content will be valuable for both individual members and the companies affiliated with Airmedic. Finally, the event will support prevention and awareness in isolated environments.
