Airmedic Official Partner of Expedition First Nations
La Tuque, November 1, 2022 — Expedition First Nations announces that Airmedic becomes its main official partner. Indeed, from February 16 to March 4, a medical helicopter will accompany the participants. The aircraft will follow the route from Manawan to Uashat Mak Mani-Utenam.

Essential Support for Safety
A helicopter configured for medical emergencies will cover the entire route. Thus, Airmedic will provide its helicopter medical transport expertise at every stage. This medical partner will ensure a constant presence. It will respond quickly when needed.
“It is reassuring for our people to know their safety is in good hands. Airmedic offers strong work ethics and professionalism. These qualities support better coordination for our ground teams, including our rangers, during medical emergencies. It is a major advantage to have a company that knows remote regions. It also has a natural connection with First Nations,” says Christian Flamand, event organizer and founder.
A Collaboration Built on Shared Values
“When the Expedition First Nations team approached us, we immediately joined the project. We wanted to provide our helicopter medical transport expertise for the entire route. Indeed, more than 70% of our operations occur in First Nations communities and territories. It was natural for Airmedic to join such a unifying event,” says Sophie Larochelle, Airmedic Chief Executive Officer.
This official sponsorship of Expedition First Nations demonstrates Airmedic’s commitment to Indigenous communities. Furthermore, this official medical support strengthens the expedition’s overall safety. It also provides constant medical assistance on the ground.
A Meaningful Expedition
The event aims to support reconciliation between nations. It also honours missing Indigenous women. The snowmobile journey seeks to raise awareness among Quebecers about Indigenous realities through personal challenge.
Expedition First Nations unites more than 55 participants. They aim to travel 4,600 kilometres across the vast ancestral territory of the First Nations.
