St-Hubert, September 19, 2025 — Airmedic, a Quebec leader in medical air transport, announces the acquisition of a second Bombardier Learjet 45XR to support its international repatriation operations. This investment of nearly $7 million adds to the $8 million invested in 2024 for the first Learjet, bringing the total to $15 million in less than two years.
With the integration of its first Learjet in 2024, Airmedic established a strategic service point at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (CYUL) to support its international operations. This second aircraft, which will enter service by the end of 2025 after system upgrades and a medical cabin reconfiguration, will double the company’s repatriation capacity and meet rapidly growing demand. This expansion also brings tangible benefits to Quebec’s economy, creating more than a dozen specialized jobs since summer 2024.
“This investment marks a pivotal milestone for Airmedic. With this second Learjet, we are expanding the reach of our Quebec expertise in international medical transport. For our patients and their families, it ensures faster, safer, and more compassionate repatriation. It is also a strong commitment to our mission: providing continuity of high-level care, both in Canada and abroad,” says Louis-Philippe Loiselle Fortier, Vice President, Strategic Initiatives and Business Development, Airmedic.
Since 2024, Airmedic has successfully carried out a wide range of international missions, from complex patient transfers to critical interventions requiring high-level logistical and medical coordination. This success reflects the rapidly growing demand for transport, in addition to the essential needs within Quebec and Canada, where patient transfers and urgent organ transport remain a priority.
The arrival of this second Learjet marks a pivotal step in the development of Airmedic’s international program. Beyond increasing capacity, it will provide greater operational resilience, more flexibility in mission planning, and the ability to respond simultaneously to multiple urgent situations. Furthermore, the reliability, speed, and performance of the Bombardier Learjet give Airmedic the means to save lives and maintain a vital connection between patients and their care.
