On June 17, Airmedic unveiled the new medical cabin of its Learjet 45XR at its hangar located at Saint-Hubert Airport. Designed to optimize critical care in flight, this cabin provides medical teams with more workspace, along with fully integrated equipment. Media representatives, government officials, partners and international clients clients gathered to celebrate this new chapter and Airmedic’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of access to quality care. Here is a look back at a milestone day, from behind the scenes to the speeches.
What the New Medical Cabin Changes in Practice
Behind a $1 million investment lies a very real transformation. Notably, this new cabin integrates overhead mounting rails above the care area, a hands-free satellite communication system, and integrated medical equipment that reduces onboard handling. As a result, our teams can intervene with even greater efficiency while providing patients with a care environment designed around their safety and comfort.
Moreover, the medical cabin was designed and fitted by Fargo Jet Center and is certified by the FAA and Transport Canada. In fact, we will dedicate an upcoming article to this cabin’s full features. Stay tuned!

The New Medical Cabin at the Heart of Conversations
Strating at 10:30 a.m., our teams welcomed the first guests from the healthcare, aviation and government sectors, as well as media representatives. Throughout the day, attendees could board the aircraft and discover this new air medical care environment in detail. In addition, our clinical, aeronautical, and operational teams were available to answer their questions on site. These exchanges highlighted the in-flight clinical judgment and the rigour that guide each of our missions.
Afterward, conversations with our clients, partners, and guests continued around a buffet by Les Cuisiniers Différents. This added a friendly touch to the event.

Inspiring Speeches Filled with Pride
The day began with a welcome address from Maxime Laviolette, President and CEO of Dessercom. He greeted the guests and highlighted Airmedic’s mission, as well as the importance of this new milestone for the organization.
Next, Mr. Sylvain Lambert, Acting Mayor of the City of Longueuil, addressed the audience. He emphasized the innovation driving Longueuil’s aerospace sector and expressed his pride in having Airmedic among the organizations contributing to the region. He also shared his continued enthusiasm for supporting our initiatives.
Finally, Louis-Philippe Loiselle Fortier, Vice-President, Strategic Initiatives and Business Development, spoke to the guests. He highlighted the pride surrounding the entire design process:
“This investment reflects our commitment to excellence in air medical care. By analyzing the realities of our missions, we designed a cabin that removes obstacles for our crews and strengthens clinical continuity.”
He then announced a concrete next step. Starting this fall, a second aircraft will receive an identical medical configuration. Lastly, his address concluded with a video unveiling the new medical cabin to the guests.

A Reach That Extends Beyond Our Borders
This unveiling event received significant media coverage among key players in healthcare and aviation sectors. This visibility comes at a time of international growth for Airmedic. Indeed, over the past three years, the company has expanded its international services, both through air ambulance missions and medical escorts on commercial flights. Based in Montreal, a hub connecting Europe and the Americas, Airmedic also holds EURAMI international accreditation. Therefore, the new medical cabindirectly supports this vision of delivering world-class aeromedical repatriation services. Despite this international expansion, Airmedic remains committed to Quebec’s communities and healthcare network through urgent interhospital transfers.
A First Step Toward Modernizing Our Fleet
The June 17 unveiling marks the beginning of a broader strategy. The reconfiguration of the second medical cabin will bring the investment to nearly $2 million. Moreover, these conversions form part of a larger $18 million commitment toward the modernization of our Learjet 45XR fleet.
Thank you to all our guests, partners, and employees for making this day a success. Your presence reflects the trust you place in Airmedic.
